广东雷州珍稀海洋生物国家级自然保护区伞形疣柳珊瑚Verrucella umbracula(Ellis & Solander,1786)新纪录种

摘要:
为明确2024年广东雷州珍稀海洋生物国家级自然保护区珊瑚礁调查中,通过水肺潜水采集到的2株形态完整的疣柳珊瑚属(Verrucella)样本的分类地位,并验证其是否为伞形疣柳珊瑚[Verrucella umbracula(Ellis & Solander,1786)]在中国海域的可靠记录,本研究对样本的群体结构、分枝模式、珊瑚虫排列特征及体表、组织内骨针进行系统形态学观察与光学显微镜鉴定,并结合现有分类文献比较分析,同时基于mtMutS基因开展鞭柳珊瑚科(Ellisellidae)系统发育研究。结果表明,所采样本具有典型的扇形网状群体结构,珊瑚虫小型且可收缩,共肉组织中含大量对称双头形骨针,珊瑚虫内骨针以纺锤形为主,其骨针形态、尺寸及颜色均与历史描述高度一致;系统发育结果亦明确支持其归属于伞形疣柳珊瑚,分子证据与形态学鉴定结果一致。本研究证实伞形疣柳珊瑚分布于雷州半岛及中国海域,丰富了中国八放珊瑚纲(Octocorallia)区系组成,同时表明雷州半岛海域的柳珊瑚目(Gorgonacea)类群多样性仍待深入揭示,对我国八放珊瑚分类与区系学研究及沿海生物多样性评估具有重要意义。

New Record of Verrucella umbracula (Ellis & Solander,1786) from the Guangdong Leizhou Rare Marine Organisms National Nature Reserve

Abstract:
In order to clarify the taxonomic status of two samples of Verrucella collected by scuba diving in the survey of coral reefs in Guangdong Leizhou Rare Marine Organisms National Nature Reserve in 2024,and to verify whether they are reliable records of Verrucella umbracula (Ellis & Solander,1786) in Chinese sea areas,the population structure,branching pattern,arrangement characteristics and surface and tissue bone needles of corals were observed by systematic morphology and identified by optical microscope.Combined with the comparative analysis of the existing classification literature,the phylogenetic study of Ellisellidae based on mtMutS gene was performed.The results showed that the samples had a typical fan-shaped reticular group structure.The corals were small and contractible.The common meat tissue contained a large number of symmetrical double-headed bone needles.The bone needles in the corals were mainly spindle-shaped,and the shape,size and color of the bone needles were highly consistent with the historical description.The phylogenetic results also clearly support that it belonged to V.umbracula (Ellis & Solander,1786),and the molecular evidence was consistent with the morphological identification results.This study confirms that V.umbracula (Ellis & Solander,1786) are distributed in the Leizhou Peninsula and Chinese sea areas,which enriches the composition of Octocorallia in China.At the same time,it shows that the diversity of Gorgonacea groups in the sea area of Leizhou Peninsula still needs to be further revealed,which is of great significance for the taxonomy and faunistic studies of Octocorallia in China,as well as for the assessment of coastal biodiversity.
