| Abstract: |
| An approximate Gauss-Newton based BFGS method for solving symmetric nonlinear equations is presented.The proposed method always generates descent directions whatever linear search is used.The global and superlinear convergence of the proposed method under suitable conditions is proved.Numerical results show that the proposed method is successful. |
