| Imagine a Chinese dialect speech recognition system. This system will have five functions:automatic recognition of initial consonant (of a Chinese syllable),simple or compound vowel(of a Chinese syllable) and tone (of a Chinese character),searches of medieval consonant、vowel、tone along with the four tones of classical Chinese phonetics,searches of homonymous characters and words with pronunciations but no characters, recognition of light tone and modified tone of liaison,recognition of variant pronunciation between literary and vernacular.The structure of Chinese dialect speech recognition system will raise the efficiency of Chinese dialect research. |
